Shortee Blitz has earned his stripes as the No.1 Hip Hop DJ in the country as well as being one of the most popular personalities on the scene, playing alongside anyone who’s anyone and taking his talent as far a field as Dubai, Hong Kong and Australia. From performing with the Fugees, De La Soul, Cypress Hill, Jeru the Damaja, Jay-Z and Run DMC, to his DJ set and bi-weekly radio show which have made him a central figure of the UK urban scene. Shortees famously had some fantastic gigs all over the country. His nights are always packed with eople wanting to see his skills of cutting and mixing as well as continually tearing the roof off with his unique ability to tease the crowd to the point of near explosion.
For those who haven’t caught Shortee in action he has been Kiss FM’s resident Hip Hop guru for the last 6 years as one half of the ‘Chubby Kids’ with Big Ted. The Hip Hop show made Kiss history this year by winning the stations first Specialist Show award at the Sony Radio Awards. This is an important date in the weekly agenda as the show has attracted guests in the shape of Busta Rhymes, Nas, Roots Manuva and LL Cool J. In 2003 Shortee Blitz picked up the gong for Best UK Club DJ at the MOBO Awards and celebrated his success by firing up an impromptu set with Blu Cantrell and Lil’ Kim freestyling over his signature mixing and scratching at the ceremony’s after-party.
